Yes, there is a seat on the board currently that is not filled. If you are interested in this position; you must have the license, be active on the board, and apply for the position.

The board’s function is to protect the public.  If a complaint is filed, the board of peers will determine the outcome.

Practitioners will still obtain their own insurance through the various available insurance companies. However, HAAZ will approach the insurance companies and let them know about the license. This also gives consumers a base to start to ask for coverage for homeopathy; as it will be a licensed modality.

Yes, the Law states that someone who has gone to an accredited school (by ACHENA or equivalent) and has passed the CHC exam (or equivalent) may apply for a license. We anticipate a Grandfather Clause for those who received their CCH before there were accredited schools.

The exam is still valid for those who have gone to an accredited school - the school needs to be accredited.

Licensure is the next step in the growing field of Homeopathy in the US. The US differs from many countries in the world who have licensure for homeopaths. Arizona has taken the next step to protect MD’s and DO’s who want to have integrated medical practices (as well as protecting the public).  Now, Arizona has taken the step to protect homeopathy and further the homeopathic profession by licensing trained practitioners.

The law states the CHC exam or equivalent. The Board will have its own exam by April, 2025 for applicants who have gone to accredited schools.

You will need to follow the laws in your state.

If someone files a complaint against you, you will need to address the Board as well.

Be sure to review the Laws in your state regarding Telehealth.

In Arizona, you may review Telehealth.az.gov – Chapter 36. https://telehealth.az.gov/

In the future, other states may elect to have a Compact Agreement with the State of Arizona, so that you may practice homeopathy under the AZ license; however – this will be up to a grassroots movement in your state.

HAAZ may be able to help you if you desire to move your state forward, or to use the Arizona law as a base.

You may still practice homeopathy in Arizona under the Arizona Exemption to the Law; being licensed is NOT required.
